if it asks u for an update means ur actually connected but ur Charles setting was messed up. Go fix yr updatelist to the correct region and point to the correct location. Restart PS3 and enjoy PSN while it last.
y it lasts wot makes u think they can patch this
its your own personal dns and theres a certificate installed in your ps3 to authorise the program to run
sony cant edit that certificate without a system update and as far as psn knows your on 3.56 bcoz the redirect tells it "platform version 3.56"
i personally wold love to know how sony deals with this 1

and your not forced to update to 3.56 even though if u go to "system update" it says new version 3.56

the old dns method was jus redirecting all the server to a "updatelist.txt" thats y there was no update needed
this method is telling
auth.ac.np.playstation.net
thats its ok and 3.56 is the version installed
the old dns had nothing to do with the auth bit
