(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); im on 3.55 cfw, and wanting to upgrade to 3.56 to get back online.

other then the firmware itself the only other thing that i have installed onto the ps3 is blackbox for ftp.

im just wondering if deleting this will be enough to not get caught as having had my console hacked, or whether a full system restore is really neccessary.

obviously id like to avoid restoring to factory settings.

thanks for any advice!

I didnt remove certain folders from my HDD and i got an email when i already was a week on ofw 3.56. I suggest you just reformat harddrive cause things stay behind... Back some things up to your external hdd/stick and restore 'm later after format

I cant tell you for sure... If you wanna be on the safe side and dont want to risk a ban, format the drive via recovery menu.

Also a tip, if you quote people, they get a popup message so they can answer you again. So quote me if you need me Winky Winky

Put 3.55 OFW on your ps3; Put it in recovery mode and select option "Restore PS3 System". After that, update to 3.56 via normal XMB.
