Does this install a cfw (you are already on a cfw if you can install packages) or is it a "virtual" fw emu?

I don't think this is really use full anymore. Can you load any firmware with this? Even firmwares lower than your current one?

true, but this can be used to experiment with other parts of the xmb and so on.
