Well since you still have your messages when your not signed in, I'm pretty sure they are on the HDD.

Does that file include the messages? Where is it located?

navigate to /dev_hdd0/home/000000000x (replace x with account you use)/friendim. Transfer your mecomment.dat file to your local disk using your preferred FTP client. +Rep if I help

You obviously don't know what we are talking about. We're trying to find the inbox/sent messages, not the comment.

Im not sure anymore... Lets recap: Others say its downloaded to the console everytime you are connecting to PSN. I think its rather stupid cuz messages wouldnt be there if not connected to the i-net... However it could be they sync in someway, cuz where are they elsewere stored when your not connected...

matties ps3 -> MyPs3(offline) <- Bounce back to Matties ps3...
So rather then that, it would probably be;
Matties ps3 -> Sony -> MyPs3(offline) <-Sony storage and wait for ps3 to become active <-MyPs3(online) <- Send message. Yeah k that sounds logical...

Ok so, Sony stores the messages, thats a fact... Then you go online, you receive the message. To read it, you dont need internet, so its stored somewhere... Its probably somewhere in a folder like 0000001 which stands for first user account... Or 00000002 depends what account you want te messages from...

G'damn, do i even make sense? Minds wondering off lol:pedo:

Well you could goto your internet settings, disable internet connection, and reboot PS3. I've done this and my inbox messages are still there so they have to be stored somewhere on the HDD. But like you said, the question is where...maybe they aren't stored in your user profile (mine /dev_hdd0/home/00000009), but that doesn't make any sense to me either lol.

It have to be in the HDD. Because you change from user and dont have the same message and try to use your account in a PS3 of a friend create a new user use your account and you dont have the message you receive. Soo I think sony see the message but dont storage them.
