You can install and use PlayOn Digital Media Server or other software alike and this will allow you to watch netflix without connecting to the PSN but it wont be through the native Netflix app it will be through the media server and I believe it only shows stuff you have in queue, you can't search for movies or shows through the media server you have to add them from the Netflix website.

Using the native Netflix app and not requiring to sign into the PSN I highly doubt it at this point in the game. As far as relying on updates though like the recent 2.02 update allot of people were having issues with black screen and error codes so you can just edit the PARAM.SFO and change the version so the Netflix app doesn't check for for the 2.02 update...using this in conjunction with F**KPSN v0.5 obviously to access the PSN which is the most important, will allow you to watch netflix normally and is how I've been watching it.

The only other way would be to do what I said in my first post. I've been doing it like that for awhile now. You need access to the PSN to use the native Netflix app which means you'll have to use F**KPSN to get your PS3 back online. FYI If you choose to do that and if you run into an error when you update to 2.02 just use the files in my previous post and make sure you don't have the 3.56 spoof installed until after updating/running the netflix app.

Well I only use a couple apps myself. For playing backups I use the latest Rogero Manager, there are plenty backup managers to choose from it just comes down to preference. Other apps I use are

Coldboot installer (Allows you to install a custom boot logo)
3.56 spoofer (Spoofs the firmware version from 3.55 to 3.56)
F**K PSN v0.6 (Installed on PC, allows you to connect to the PSN with CFW)
