Post: My progress on a 3.56 downgrade PS3 SLIM

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys, I'm trying to downgrade my PS3 system and I noticed something. When I unplugged the power cable when it's INSTALLING (so not copying) the update, plug it back in the first thing that's booting is my USB device, i'm now putting some 3.55 ofw on it and I'm going to see what's happening...

Pls don't flame me, I'm actually trying now... I'll be back in 10 minutes for an update

--- edit --

I noticed in the % bar between 3% and 22% there is no orange light that is blinking

I think i'm getting the puzzle completed. I opened the official 3.56 pup file and I saw some cool stuff there, first there is a "header" with some code and then I see some <xml> tags starting with the TOS in every single language. I can see it's version 1.14 of the TOS and copyright 2009 by Sony. Where the xml closes I see the firmware files.

I opened the geohot jailbreak and I couldn't see a difference in the head but now i'm gonna change the files, just the files so I don't touch the head so the PS3 still thinks it's 3.56 and replace it by the Geohot jailbreak. As we all now Geohot there is some cool easter egg in his jailbreak:

Well, good luck. Been told that this would result in a perma-brick, yet others differ.

Bleh. Hope things go swell.

Ive seen alot of these , People saying how they are working on something..... Then they just leave the thread...... :y:

why not create the thread after you check if things work
(and tbh i dont know why people bother with these kind of things)

When I upgraded to 3.56 I didn't deleted my GAMEZ folder so I just want to downgrade just to check I still got my backed-up games. My PS3 is still under warranty, so if I got permabricked I just get me some new (hopefully 3.55) PS3.

I'm just gonna mess around this evening with some system settings, doing some random power cable unplugging and I'm writing the whole process down.
This may be helpfully for people that read this thread and think: Maybe he should do it like this.
So if somebody got a good idea, every idea is welcome Winky Winky.

I'm really doing my best to help this community and to go back to January 2011 where every developper had the freedom to develop something for the amazingly device called PS3.

Not likely. It bricks, you'll call Sony, they'll ask the problem, do some troubleshooting, then when it all fails, you send it in, they'll try to fix your problem, then update your firmware to the CURRENT firmware. They don't just fix the issue at hand. Mine ****ed up a while back. I don't know what they did, but they DID ask me what firmware I was on when I tried to send it to them. Lol...Good luck to ya.
