Due to the fact sony is letting you online, they are LOGGING all access attempts on you and probably gathering information on whos "hacking" into psn via bypass.
They could easily use this information to ban your account and console. It may be easy to just set DNS and forget it, but now and days we are at war with sony and our consoles...They haven't done this before as they had no reason to. Now and days they HAVE A REASON.

ATM I just reinstalled my OS (ubuntu) and seem to have trouble getting the auth server to show up in charles. I might not login for a bit. Sony never has touched my account or console and I plan for them not to.
So a warning to all, it may be easier, its defiantly not safer.
Even if you use bypass, it only lasts for few weeks and it gets patched.
