Geohots cfw made it so you could ins tally pkg files. Kmeaw added peek poke. And they achieved this by patching the lvl1/2 and made it work like there was a dongle but instead of using a dongle to patch, it had code built in to patch.
And I have no clue abot cfw puppies and cats.

... The same thing the jailbreak did. Cfw patched lvl1/2 and some other things in the core os. The USB did the same thing through an exploit. The cfw is really just a patch. The jailbreak is a patch. Nothing new that's added, just something activated.

What did it change, thats the question. What did it change in the lv1/2 to actually exploit it.

It changed it so it would allow the install pkg feature. I guess I should have clearfied, USB patched lvl1/2 to install unsigned .pkgs and had the install .pkg. Cfw made it so it just had the install pkg, and it would have to be a signed .pkg

Man I forgot a lot about this but theres certain websites like the old ps3wikia but that got closed. But it showed where to go in that stuff and gave some good in detail instructions. I just know the method they used.

CFW did not follow the PS3's code of conduct/terms of service, because it allowed Other Operating Systems on the PS3, and allowing backups, hacks, etc.
