I know I used to not be able to play most games, but then I did a soft format, and I reinstalled every thing. This may not be the solution for you, but It worked for me. Although i think might have just been lucky

You play GTA on ext or int hdd? I read from somewhere that GTA can only be played on ext. I ll give it a try. and for COD, blackops is fine but world at war, seems like there is no hope
