Firmware isn't entirely stored on the HDD so i thought i would try this.

Sure, but why not just a new ps3. Because you can't swap bdvd drives because of device id certification. and your hdd gets formatted.

Yes there is a brick downgrade method but its very risky but idc. Anyway i see 3.60jb has been made by math so ill wait to see if he releases it first.
