Bought ps3 on 3.55.
Installed multiman,open ftp,comgenies file manager.
noticed some wierd discolouration on the screen some times.
Turned on agian and it freezes at start up with wierd purple blotches.
turn of at plug, turn on again and i have no picture at all just the green light on the ps3 but no flashing leds by the usb ports.
it will load discs and eject them.
sometimes when turned on the screen flashes with a blue streak but nothing else.
Can anyone help me Please??

by holding down the power button until it bleeps twice i think

Sounds like you have bricked your console to me, or you bought a console that was having problems before and you got scammed, since it was on 3.55 someone could have been attempting to do something with cfw and ****ed up, then sold it, this happens...

EDIT: I've heard you can get out of brick by going into recovery mode, it also depends on what cfw you tried installing, did it come with waninkoko's cfw? Because it bricks, the best thing to do is go into recovery mode from here: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkeSELCguv0[/ame]

Get a refund, what cfw did you have? Btw was that a new console?

Go to recovery mode by :

1.Power on and keep holding the power button
2. wait till it powers off than press power button and HOLD
3. wait for the 2 more beeps than release
4.Plug in controller and it should work

Does your TV work on other things perfectly fine, if not it just might be the TV. Also, if possible test the PS3 on another screen and see if it works, or the same thing happens then reply back with your results.

Okay here's what you do. Try the PS3 on a different TV or setting (HDMI, A/V, ETC). If it work on another TV it may be some funky settings on the TV your trying to use it on. If the problem still continues it is a faulty PS3. Get a refund and start again.
