A common problem with jailbreak users is the need to remove backups when transferring patches which is such a hassle messing with all the settings, accidentally corrupting your backups, and careless removal of important files. Luckily I have done some minor tampering and have found a way to transfer patches without all this craziness.
Requirements
-PS3 OFW
-PS3 CFW/Jailbreak
-FTP Server+Client
Okay lets get started.
1. Open up your FTP and run your client.
2. Find your backup folder on your client. In my case I will be using GAMES from multiMAN.
3. On my PS3 the folder is located in /dev_hdd0/.
4. The destination of GAMES is the trophy folder. Data transfer utility transfers everything except trophies.
5. Find your trophy folder and place the GAMES folder inside it. Mine is /dev_hdd0/home/00000009/trophy. Move your backup folder to it.
6. Place your patches in their designated folder.
7. Now you are able to data transfer without being harrased by your PS3 saying "Y U NO HAVE BIGGER HDD?"
Note: IF you have a lot of backups you will have large files still on your PS3. To get rid of them go to Game Data Utility and delete anything that can be restored. Patches and anything more than 500 MB should be deleted unless it's DLC.
