Yeah, I'm pretty sure the people on 3.41 and 3.55 share the same server on rebug CFW.

i have to install this via the service menu or whatever or can i update via storage media in the xmb?

Try either, it sometimes depends on what model of PS3 it is. It doesn't matter which way you do it in the end though.
