First of all, I'm a complete noob to the whole PS3 jailbreaking scene, so please excuse me if I ask something that I should already know as I've only had my PS3 for 3 weeks, but I have a couple of questions regarding to this method posted in this thread.

I'm currently on CFW 3.55 kmeaw, I haven't created a PSN account, nor tried to access it thinking that I might be banned on the spot, but from what I've read you can't access it (unless you upgrade to 3.60). If that's not the case, please excuse me.

I've also read that even if you don't access PSN, Sony can still detect if I'm running CFW on my PS3, so I haven't really blocked anything in my firewall/router so am I screwed ? I mean, when I startup games, it does detect patches, but I haven't downloaded any of them (although I suppose I can download them and install them?)

Now my question, using the tools and method in this thread described in the first post, is it possible that I would be able to access PSN and play games online, even though I'm not on 3.60 ? Or would I need to be banned first before I can try it out? I have no clue, for all I know I can be banned already without accessing PSN whatsoever?

I haven't loaded any spoofers or used Charles or any stealth patches either. So, will it work, is it possible that I could be banned already, anything that I can try to test it out ?

I did originally post this in the "Sign into PSN with a banned console" thread in the "PS3 Exploits and Hacks" section but xCorrey instructed me to post it here. No one knows what security checks etc Sony have put into place after PSN goes back online, so I'm not inclined to do anything drastic at this stage, but if anyone could perhaps shed some light as to what I can try, I'll appreciate it.

Get 3.55 rebug for online access then while on rebug change you np environment to sp-int and use the sign up their u can find this in debug settings also any attemp to sign in psn right now will fail everything is down

Mmm, so even if I change my certificate files and modify my console id while on 3.55, it won't allow me access?

I've been reading all of the threads about Rebug 3.55, I'm not too keen on switching over to it, perhaps if it still works after PSN gets back online, was hoping that I would have another alternative without needing to change my firmware. :FU:
