You need to have working blue ray. Sorry your out of luck on that one.

u need a bluray drive connected to your ps3 to run homebrew
the drive doesnt have to work properly as mine is knackered aswell
i think even if u have the board what connects to the drive itself is enough

It should be common sense that if the ps3 doesn't detect it, it won't be able to be used for the ps3. Your out of luck dude

if your drive lens moves and you see the laser then its connected properly
your homebrew will run when your bluray is like that
the way i fixed it was to reflash my ps3 with kmeaw cfw and now homebrew works now

Hi, did you fix your PS3 Black screen problem. I have the same. I have here 1 working PS3 with 3.55 Kmeaw and I find out that all you need from bluray part is the bluray board, you can disconnect the Bluray drive completly, just leave the small board connect. When I disconnect the small board im having blackscreen after playint any pkg. but with the board connected, is ok and multiman works. Even about 40% dowloaded games work to (without bluray drive).
But my second PS3 doest act like that, even only with the small board connected i'm having those black screen. So our problem won't be in bluray. I've seen some tutorials with HDD issue but even witch different HDD it acts same. Any ideas ?
