(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi guys,

Ive got a little problem with the RSOD after attemping to upgrade to 3.61 from Service mode 3.56 on my spare console, just wondering if its possible to unbrick it, without using recorvery mode.. for some reason my console wont go into recovery mode.. Im stuck at half way mark of the install, it loaded the data 100% but straight after restart where it acually installs the firmware I got RSOD..

Bad spelling I was rushing lol..

You cant use the recovery mode? Here are the instructions on how to access again...

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

You may try formatting the HDD in there. It may do the trick. So let me get this straight, you entered Factory/Service mode in 3.56 to try to downgrade it and it failed and you were stuck in Factory/Service mode? Then you tried to update to 3.61 and it completed and now leaves you with RSOD?

Here is another thread on the same topic. Hopefully it provides some answers: You must login or register to view this content.
