Long distance data transfer? No, not that I know of. Format PS3 HDD? Sure, take it out the PS3 then just format it on your PC, I did that for my old 60GB PS3 HDD :bro:

Nah bro, he means a 100% format so it can be used away from his PS3(e.g. on his PC) Smile

Do or Do Not, There is No Try
One option you can do is take the PS3 hard drive and place it in one of the external hdd casings, then connect it to your pc by usb. That would work Smile

Here is an example of one I am talking about: You must login or register to view this content.

yes as long as your pc is compatible with a 2.5 inch sata it will work
the only way to data transfer is with a Ethernet cable so for long distance you would need a really long cable :carling:

This question was bothering me a while back before they came up with CFW.. better put is there a way to do a data transfer over the net.. so someone that lives anywhere in the world to give him there mw2 patch.. I think the idea is simple but actually archieving the goal is prob near impossible. tho using a proxy server and some software on the PC would prob be the way around the console thinking its not directly connected.. anyways Ill leave this for the devs to decide..

It might well be possible, but it would be extremely difficult to setup and after transferring to someone else they'd have access to your accounts and all your stuff, potential problem.

That can be a big prob, I guess we better leave this question, as it has a too high a security risk. Thanks for your reply Clutch Hunter
