Prod-qa AKA Product Quality Assurance was a server set up for devs which allowed accounts on it (which were signed up with quick sign up) to have access to a fake Sony credit card which gave devs free access to the PSN store to test if their dlc was being downloaded correctly.

So for all the rebug users who still have their prod accounts saved on their ps3's and want to retrieve the password to it, just follow these easy steps
This also works for retrieving the password of any account saved on your ps3 incase you forgot it but it is still saved.

Step 1:
~ Download the Xregistry.sys editor located You must login or register to view this content.

Step 2:
~ Connect your ps3 to an FTP server and locate and copy to your computer the XRegistry.sys file located in /Dev_flash2/etc/

Step 3:
~ Extract and open the Xregistry editor (located in the bins folder) and open and view your Xregistry.sys file you copied from your PS3

Step 4:
~ Carefully scroll through the information until you find where it says the email address for your Prod-Qa account, the next line under it should be the password.

*to copy and paste the log in details to a notepad for safekeeping click on the the line you wish to copy from and it should be displayed on the right under "Value"

Now that you have this info you may be wondering what is the point of this tutorial? you are on 3.55 CFW and can not access PSN, and your account is saved on your ps3 anyways? what use is knowing the password?

Well now this info can be used on a ps3 which is running OFW 3.61+ so that when the Prod-QA servers are restored (currently are still down) I will release another tutorial which will allow People with OFW connect to Prod-QA with a Prod-QA account made from Rebug and access free DLC. (or if you decide to upgrade your ps3 from 3.55 CFW with a prod-qa account still saved on it)

im not going to write a whole tut when you can not do it right now while the servers are down so that when they do come up my thread is trashed or swarmed by new threads and on like the 30 page

but essentially what you do is set up a dns server and proxy, (i use linux for mines) and use charles debugging program to replace how your ps3 connects to psn, and change all the NP values to Prod-qa and bingo, you connect to the prod-qa.

I like hacks and all but, it is douchey if you jack someones account...

this isn't for hacking accounts, its for the people who used "quick sign up" on the Prod-QA server and made an account which contains the information to sonys fake credit card which can be used to download anything you want from the PSN store. so one beneficial use to this, if you made more then one account, you could sell the information to someone on OFW who if uses a dns and proxy to reroute the way their ps3 connects to psn so they connect to Prod-QA instead of NP(retail) when the servers comes up, they can access the store and download anything for free.

I tried this before psn outage when rebug was still a thing and it didnt work.
the rebug psn ID was much too long couldnt even type it in on my ofw ps3.

really? then if your right, this will only work for people who are on 3.55 and have it saved, and upgrade to OFW 3.61+ then, but we will see.
