And i figured to help this from happening, why can't you make an app that displays the core temperature of the system. This would be useless on a slim console..But i think it would greatly help the fat console users.

I was thinking since the ps3 is similar to a computer it must have diagnostic checks on core temperature...Right? Well if the process has been found that should be able to be displayed from somewhere. Please tell me if i am wrong.

Orr, you could just not burn and play the PS3 so much?

But the comments in no way helpful. And it's a playstation, it's made to be played. But if your like me i worry about YLOD all the time, my new ps3 runs very warm and i'm concerned aswell.

EDIT- I want to expand on this idea, maybe someone could do some research and find the melting point or what triggers the YLOD and have a red bar similar to the notice that controller is dieing saying "The playstation is reaching a harmful temperature" or something similar and have one that is announced when it's at a safe temperature, or have something on the quit game / turn off system menu, not sure what it's called.

Yeah I don't worry about this system as much as I did with my 360. They actually made this system correctly. Beats the 1 in 3 RROD for the 360. Such a garbage system.

I'm very worried honestly, I just bought a new first gen console and it runs a bit warm. I don't have money to keep buying systems, let alone scavenger hunt for a first gen ps1 / ps2 /ps3 playing system lolol.

Also i have a second or third gen fat console that runs COLD so theres a huge difference.

Oh I have a slim. I know how you feel with the buying systems part. I bought like 4-5 360s. My last one died on me after I fixed it twice so I just said fck it and went with a ps3. I love microsoft when it comes to stuff with computers, but the 360 is just a piece of junk.

And i have two consoles, 2 ps3s both working fine, just concerned about my 60gig, just jail broke it lol, and like i said its a first generation, so very hard to find a new one like i did ;p.
