i have a phat ps3 and installed kmeaw ,everything fine till turned it on to a black screen so i thought hd corrupt or firmware so i decided to update via recovery mode with rebug i didnt realize till the install crash half way through that i had used 3.41.3 rebug instead of 3.55.2 rebug .

now i tried to reinstall kmeaw via recovery and it asks to format hd first so it does that fine then when it finishes format i just get black screen where it usually installs firmware.... although the power light stays on and the hd indicator flashes for say 10-15 secs then nothin.

Just leave it on when the format finishes

I went through the same thing almost the other day. What i did and suggest is to try and downgrade with a jailbreak dongle (PS3break, E3 Card, ect) It wont work and will give you a complete brick. NOW, search google for PS3 lvl2dial files and put the #1 file on a regular usb stick along with 3.55 otherOS++special.pup. Now go back into recovery menu and evrything should work now. Even though this worked for me to get out of a complete brick, it was not tested on a fat ps3 or anybody's but mine. I had no idea I could do it. But I wasnt letting sony beat me again!lol

go to recovery mode and install 3.55 kmeaw again this should help

You should of installed 3.55 ofw first, infact try that now, installing a normal fw, maybe that will work Or try getting a new hdd, Its probably your hdd that has failed, yes hdd's can fail from any time, so check it's your hdd or not. I've never experienced this, so I'm just telling you what i know. Hope you fix this problem soon. And remember to backup for the future so if stuff like this happens you can just revert back
