i want 2 connect my ps3 and laptop using an ethernet cable and have my laptop go wireless to my router. using the ethernet cable can makeing a lagswitch work with this setup? if not is there any other way 2 create lagg in the game so i can do cool glitches?
also if so can u plz pm me some good glitches and how 2 do them
If you want a lag switch and a wireless setup, then you need a wireless router. You would connect the lag switch to the ethernet cable going from the router to the ps3, and have the laptop connect to the built in wireless access point in the router. If you don't want to make a lag switch, a program you can use to simulate lag is called Net Tools, and a tutorial on how to use it can be found in the lag switch and net tools section here.
wat if my router is downstairs and my ps3 is upstaris? i want the ethernet 2 go from my ps3 2 my laptop(because my laptop has a stronger connection) and the laptop will go wireless 2 my router. cant i make a lag switch with just the ethernet cable connected 2 the laptop?
you would connect to the router wirelessly, and connect the ethernet from the laptop to the ps3. on your computer go to network settings, and bridge the connection .
Open control panel and select network connections, right click the wireless connection (the one that gives you internet) and click properties. Click on the advanced tab and check the box asking "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection". Then in the drop down box, select your ps3 connection (which should be called Local Area Connection)
If that doesn't work, ignore everything I said and do this:
Highlight both connections and click bridge connections.
thats wat i did i highlited them both and pressed bridge connections ever since then i havent lagged but i still dont get the network cable is unplugged thing
This is the only way i know how to do it and it works perfectly fine for me. Take the Ethernet Cord that you made a lag switch out of, and connect it to your modem. Then take the other end and plug it into your Wireless router. Then take another ethernet cord and plug it into your ps3. and there ya go. Hope this helps.
