(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); MY Ps3 was stuck in an update loop due to trying to update it without a blu ray drive. I formatted my hdd and then i put my ps3 in revovery mode. I took my usb stick and put a folder in it called PS3 then UPDATE then the file which is named TripBDBv3.pup I then stuck it in the very right hand usb of the ps3, the fourth one. I push update or whatever it says all the way at the bottom and then it says i cant go below 3.21 and to push start and select buttons. I do and CHecking... Please Wait pops up and stays up it's been up for a while. Did I do anything wrong? Any suggestions?
Now it is saying no applicable update data found.

Try renaming the file in bold to PS3UPDAT.PUP

I did its been about 10 minutes and still hasnt update just says checking... please wait. I have four usb ports which one should i have put it in? and my flash drive is a fat32

Make sure your USB is setup in the following way- root(removable disk _)/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP. Ensure that both folders are capitalized, and that the update file is as well(this includes the .PUP extension).
Any port should be fine.

Ok it all is it stopped and said something about the ps3 will be formatted andto hold in select and start for about 5 seconds i didi and its checking... please wait

ok it said it will be formatted dont remove usb or anything then it wen to around 11 percent and said a serious error has occurred contact technical support
