I'm pretty sure that the pieces can be unscrewed off. I'm about to look at my ps3 and see if I'm right. I'm sorry if I'm not though. But I'm sure that there are a bunch of videos on how to do it.

Well I just looked at my ps3 and I was wrong lol. But it does look like they can kind of snap off. But I wouldn't try that without knowing if that's what you do or not. Just look for a video on how to take it apart.
