I have just brought an original phat ps3 with 3.14 OFW. From my understanding downgrading FW can be a pain. What would people advise me to upgrade the FW to so I can jailbreak the PS3. I am most interested in using it for COD challenge lobbies. I don't want to upgrade to a FW that I can't jailbreak and is a pain to downgrade. Is 3.55 the way to go ?

Not asking how to do this as there are lots of tutorials on here how to do it, but I want to know what CFW I should upgrade to.

I have 2 ps3's one is the new slim with 3.72 OFW on. The 2nd the one I have just brought which is the old phat with 3.14. So I need to upgrade to 3.55 then. I am a web developer and used to be a network enginer so hopefully shouldn't have to much trouble. Am happy to search myself for exact details, but has anybody come across a good tutorial on how to do this. I see there are loads of tutorials but not all follow the same process, was wondering what is the best practice.

Thanks Joshieee , brought it off ebay. So far have update OFW to 3.55 . Now going to install 3.55 kmeaw . What is the best way to do datatransfer ??? I have seen a few guides on here but not sure which is the easiest method ??? Am ideas ?? I have a tv for each ps3 so it's easy to see what is going on. Thanks

If your doing it to host COD just put the modded patch you want onto you CFW PS3 then use the data transfer utility like you normally would to data transfer to your OFW PS3.
