PS3 Media Server is a Java-powered DLNA/UPnP server; it'll automatically transcode any incompatible video formats and pump said vids direct to your PS3 for playback, like MKVs and such ... audio too. It also supports other DLNA clients if you have other media renderers in your home. But for the best results use your PS3, after all, it's designed for that.

Note: 1.50.0 Beta 1 is built from SVN r949 and is labeled "Beta" because some code changes have not been thoroughly tested.
