Post: FAT32 Formatter For External Hard Drives
02-18-2012, 04:52 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok this is my first post and hopefully this is something useful for you guys. I wanted to download ps3 game torrents off the internet and install them into my internal hard drive but i needed a FAT32 hard drive large enoough. I went and got myself an 80gb hard drive that was on NTFS. Later i found out that this hard drive could only be formatted to NTFS and exFAT, both of which are not compatible with the ps3. Correct me if im wrong on this but i remember hearing somewhere that you cant get FAT32 hard drives over 4gb. Not sure about that though. But anywhoo this should help you guys out

Step 4: Click on the picture and wait for it to start up

Step 5: Assuming that you guys all know the letter your hard drive is assigned, pick it on the list. If not go to this tutorial, You must login or register to view this content.

Step 6: Use the default allocation size unit unless you want to change it. Then type in the name you want to give your hard drive. I wrote "BACKUP". Check the quick format. Then finally press start.

Lol no need to facepalm him. To give you a straight answer. No. The firmware is stored on the PS3's NAND I believe. A backup only allows you to back up the contents of the HDD, sorry.

You don't even need a program to format, just find the driver/file and use cmd :p you can do it manually that way
