I tried 1 year ago to install a cfw3.55 on my ps3, basically to test it and to solve a save file problem. Later I sold it, because i don't play so much, so i buy the few games that i like.

Now i knew about those new dongles and new CFWs.

So I kindly ask to the experts:
what are dongles?
what they enable to do on the ps3?
can u play online on psn?
can u access the disk ftp?

What about new cfw? any news from cfw3.55kmew?

a dongle is just something to grab money off a costumer,
while CFW is free, gives you the same

Looking in the single forums, they talk specifically about that dongle, begging the question of knowing what they are.

dongles actually doesnt do shit, because of the DRM lock, like TrueBlue, you need the CFW of them and a dongle otherwise you couldnt play games,

while normal CFW doesnt need DRM dongels, if you wanna play online on CFW (wich i shouldnt do) you should use Rogero 4.30 CEX 2.00

thanks raoul it seems cfw would be the best bet to control everything on PS3.

At this point can you please tell me better what the dongles are? I thought they were like an external and temporary cfw that u can switch on and off to play backups.

Now i don't get what are they for? can u go online anyway?
