As you may know, you have seen Youtube videos of people modding Naruto Storm 3 Full Burst and even Naruto Storm Revolution right? Thing is, is that it's for PC. You see how those models are being swapped? That's a process In all Naruto games called "Model Swapping". It's no different from Grand Theft Auto V or any model swap related title. Anyways, it consist of Character Model IDs which, aren't hex bytes, but rather they are actual ASCII text. For example:

    1nrt - PTS Naruto
2nrt- Naruto (Wind Style Rasen Shuriken)
3nrt- Naruto (Tailed beast Bomb)
4nrt- Bijuu Mode Naruto
3ksn- Kushina

On PC, you'll notice they use files called .xfbin. Such as "3ksnbod1.xfbin"

These files are used for the texture models to edit, swap, you name it. It's totally done. Most of you are going to wonder why this is not possible on PS3. It is possible, however it would require some sort of counter measure to make that happen. If you see anything online that shows "How to mod Naruto Revolution PS3/XBOX" it is fake and is not real. (Won't name any names) ^_^

Anyways, PS3 and PC use the same files. Which would be .CPK files right? You'd think Unpacking them and Re-packing would easily get the job done. But it does not.

You see, the Unpacker works correctly and fine. The issue is that most "CPK Repackers" you see online are only built for PC's CPK file and not PS3's. One of the ways we tried getting our Repacked CPK to work was NULLing the size amount in HxD. Since the so-called "Re packer" we used did nothing but made the size bigger. We even tried coding a few batch files so it would maintain it's size hopefully but it did not.

So, that's that..unless someone here is up to the challenge to successfully Re-pack the CPK, while getting it to work somehow in your FTP, that'd be cool!

Most directories should be:
*dev_hdd0/game/BLES02014/USRDIR/data/sim/data.cpk*

In the end, we've gotten far doing this but only to points where the models would go in a "Scarecrow stance" and do nothing the entire fight.

How to mod any combo using an alternative way for DATA.CPK:

1) Get your original data.cpk

2) Open HxD with it

3) Follow this video and it'll pretty much explain the basics. You must login or register to view this content. The point of HxD is that it pretty much shows every file the data.cpk contains in the form of bytes and ASCII.

4) Put the data.cpk back in your FTP directory and bam you're done.
