Its a very inexpensive fix for the YLOD.

I followed this guide and for the cost of some thermal paste I fixed my ps3 which YLOD'd on me 2 days ago.

It took me about 20 mins of work and 20 mins of waiting for the mother board to cool down to fix it completely.

This means I am into my 2 1/2 year marker on my original 40gig PS3.

What happened was.. like most people I was playing MW2 when it shut off on me mid game.

I fixed it by following this video.
