The guy in this video uses one an HDPVR I think it is. It displays clearly:
From the looks of it, the one he uses is called Haupauge Capture, or something like that. If the price is too expensive, then you might wanna do what I did. I recently got easyCap. It works great, but don't expect any HQ recordings, as the product is no longer supported, and was last made for Windows xp, so you'll need to use the driver that will work for xp and 8. Use this software to run on your laptop: Corel VideoStrudio Pro X7 (Get the torrent/cracked full version like I did)
Also, easyCap doesn't use HDMi, fyi. It hooks up to your ps3's AV cables.
