When your playing ps3 you can use Enthernet Cord to go straight from Modem To playstation OR You can Use Enthernet Cord To Wire From Router To Playstation

Yeah i know but my 50 foot ethernet cord broke & my other cords don't reach :/

Not sure lol. I think a router doesn't have wireless & a modem does. Correct me if im wrong.

Try to go to network settings (on the ps3) and go to custom and change your ps3's IP Address
