Never synced a controller to it just got it

And the screen just stays blue

Hold the power button until it beeps. This should reset the video configuration. If all else fails then the ps3 could have glod which is RSX Related. Similar to RLOD but the green light of death is when the solder point under the sync has melted completely. Dont quote me on this i could be very wrong.
