Mid-game on COD4 My PS3 shuts down.
now everytime i try to turn it on green light comes on for 3 sec. the fans go woosh like always then..
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, it flashes yellow once, shuts off and the red light contiues to flash. if i try to eject the game the exact same thing happens.

Now, I've been contacting Sony (SO FAR NO HELP) and i've tried everything i can without opening the system.. i.e. Void warranty sticker..
I MIGHT STILL HAVE STORE EXTENDED WARRANTY.
lookin for receipt.
(I'll let all of you know what SCEA tells me.)
In conclusion i'm not looking for fixes however if someone knows sumthing i'd like a reply.
but if you've taken good care of your ps3 and right after your warranty is up and your PS3 (60GB) goes kaput please post a comment.
If i get enough replies i'm not fixing it... i'm going 80GB or (i cant belive i'm saying it...) XBOX.

once the extended warranty period is over i'll crack it open and try everything i can to self repair it. I will post my solution (if any) on here as a tut. with pics. so if anyone has the same issue they can fix it themselves.

ok my god this happened to me two . your ps3 has turned itself into the yellow light mode as not to harm itself any further its over heated or your hdd is lose. You have to pay £150 to get it fixed but i justed bought a 80gb ps3 so my conclusion is buy a 40gb ps3 and swap the hdd's but your 40gb ps3 has to be never turned on for the hdd swpa to work

Yea, my PS3 never had heat issues to my knowledge. $150 for sumthing i paid 600 for is bull.
i found a guy in key west who modded a 360 and used to have a PS2. i told him my story and he said he'd buy it. so i'm gonna sell it to him and just buy another ps.
How much is the 40GB compared to the 80GB?
