Resistance 2 Story
The Resistance 2 story will be a direct continuation from that of Resistance: Fall of Man as it picks up exactly where the prequel left off. The Black Ops soldiers take Hale to Iceland were they have a special research base. Here he discovers that he isn't alone, and that others have developed the same kind of immunity to the Chimeran virus that he has. Hale, along with these people, form a task force known as the Sentinels. Shortly after his arrival in Iceland, the Chimeran forces invade and Hale, along with the other Sentinels manage to escape to America.
Two years after the events of Resistance: Fall of Man, the Chimera launch a full-scale aerial assault on the United States of America.
Unlike in the previous game, Nathan Hale will now have much more of a hands-on role with the story telling. It will follow him much more closely, and he will be narrating much of the story. This means that Rachel Parker will not be returning in Resistance 2.
Play Modes
The campaign mode in Resistance 2 can only be played in single player mode. However, unlike Resistance: Fall of Man, there will be a completely separate story campaign, which can be played co-operatively with up to 8 people online, or 2 people offline. Both of these campaigns will both include colossal boss battles, and the online co-op will be able to support different class types, such as Medic and Special Ops.
Story Locations
From what is known so far, the story will take place partially in Iceland, but the main bulk of the story will take place in the United States of America; namely Chicago and San Francisco.
Resistance 2 Characters
Only one character has been disclosed so far in the story of Resistance 2, and that is Sergeant Nathan Hale, who returns from Resistance: Fall of Man. No other characters from the first game will be returning for Resistance 2:-
Sergeant Nathan Hale
Hale is once again the main character of the game, but this time the game will more heavily focus on him. Hale will this time be doing the narrative of the story and he will be much more integral to its progression.
In Resistance 2, Nathan Hale is part of "The Sentinels", a group of elite soldiers who are immune to the Chimeran virus. However, it has also been disclosed that at the start of the game, Hale only has 19 hours to live as the virus inside him is starting to take over. This can be seen from the colour of his eyes.
Resistance 2 Enemies
Up until recently, little was known about the enemies that would be seen in Resistance 2, other than Ted Price saying that there would be 12 new types of Chimera appearing in the game. Since then, we've seen the return of both the Hybrid and the Steelhead, albeit in slightly changed attire, alongside three new types of Chimera, one of which is one of the huge bosses that are in-store for us during Resistance 2.
Aside from the two returning enemy types, they will be joined by the Grim, Fury and Leviathan as new enemies for players to square off against
Hybrid
Being the most generic form of troop in the Chimeran army, it makes sense that the Hybrid returns in Resistance 2. They appear to be wearing much less armour this time around due to the increase heat, which could make them much more weak to gunfire.
They are using the Bullseye as their weapon of choice once again, but unlike in Resistance: Fall of Man, the Hybrid can now charge enemies at great speed.
Steelhead
One of the more tricky enemies in Resistance: Fall of Man, the Steelhead joins the Hybrid to make a return in Resistance 2. While they're still using their lovely Auger, they also appear to be wearing much less armour in Resistance 2, with their head being the notable place that is now overly exposed.
For Resistance 2, they have gained the ability to crouch, although based on the gameplay footage, it doesn't seem to help them that much.
Grim
The Grim is a new enemy for Resistance 2, and it looks like a downsized Gray Jack. They wear no armour at all (although there is talk of them gaining some) and act like rabid animals. In one of the pieces of footage, the encounter a horde of Grims that engulf the allied players, due to both their numbers and speed. On the later difficulties these will probably cause considerable annoyance.
Fury
The Fury or Furies (as there are supposed to be lots of them) dwell in the water seen throughout Chicago. They were only seen briefly during the gameplay footage, but no doubt they will attack from the murky waters at some point during the story.
Leviathan
The Leviathan is one of the huge bosses that appears in Resistance 2. It is said to be well over 300ft tall and one might ask how a mere human would be able to defeat such a colossal beast. It was hinted that there would be a special vehicle used for the fight (if the fight happens), and only that fight, but that is only speculation for now.
I have pics. dont know how to put them on here tho. Pm me to teach me how, or post a thread on it
