No details were given on which specific parts are down, so if you insist on going online, just don't be surprised if some things don't work. Go get yourself a cookie while you wait for it to come back up.

The official word from Sony is that this is just your "regular scheduled maintenance," so you can cross your fingers all you want that they're using this time to create a super duper Space for God of War III at Home (or is that just me), but chances are we won't even notice any changes once things are back up and running.

*UPDATE*

It's up and running, the scheduled maintenance for the PlayStation Network has just been completed. You may now access the network again hassle-free. It's just your average site maintenance - not an update - so there's nothing new in the site for now.

Patrick Seybold, director of corporate communications and social media, handed out this statement:

The PlayStation Network maintenance announced today has been completed and everything is back up and running properly.

No updates here, not even a list of what needed maintaining. And Isaac didn't get his super duper game space for God of War III at home, either.
