Ok, so people always say wired connection is the only way to game seriously online, because it has no lag. I run wireless and my connection has just been so damn shitty lately, i have an ethernet cable that i can use to run a wired connection, but the only thing is my mom also uses the router for her computer. My first question is can i buy a spliiter so we can plug two ethernet cables into the router and my second question is if so, will i still get the same preformance as a wired connection that wasnt split?
if you have a router you don't need a splitter, unless all ethernet ports are used. and a splitter is not what you want, it would be a ethernet switch.

All ethernet ports are used and Thanks ill look into it
It all depends on how fast you line speed is....... Google internet speed test to see how fast you download/upload is.
If you have a slow line speed, You are always going to lag no matter which connection type you have.
It depends on your connection, if you have 20 mb suppose your connection between your mom and you will be of 10mb each, it depends who uses more. But yes, it will surely run faster than your wireless you will notice the difference as soon as you play. Also, you should take into account that there are different types of cables that favourite even more the connection between the router and the PS3.
