But I've heard that the xbox 360 cooling fans just heat it up even more

Is this true with the PS3?

My PS3 sometimes when I'm playing it heats up my room really badly and gets extremely hot to touch and starts whirring loudly, it did this pretty much from the start

The cooling fan looks like it's quite good quality, and i have a 60gb so don't warn me that it won't work

Are there any cooling fans that you have used and you would recommend?

P.S. I keep my PS3 verticaly up so the place where the air comes out of goes away from the playstation, it is about 30cm away from the wall, and i almost always have my window open when playing

a guy a future shop said that the ps3 wont over heat, he said that the fan just takes up more power

yeah i would have to say the same most of the time.
Put it in a cool room..

if it gets hot then just stack some game boxes under your ps3 and voila.

I have a cooling fan on my PS3, it's a big thing that hugs the side of your PS3 with 3 fans. It cools your PS3, but pushes the hot air out, so keep it in an open space!

i have my window open and my radiator in my room low and the fan never goes past the 1st stage unless i wack my heating up then the fans go mad.

Lol of course they work just don't play for 10 hours

I have a desk fan blowing air at the drive and the vents while i play, never overheats as of yet

Well , I got a (good) ps3 cooling fan , it does it's works perfectly , I won't recommend you buying that for 5 $ , mine costs 15 $ , now that's quality.
That's why my ps3 still didn't have the YLOD

hmm 1 thing the 360 is good at is cooking itself lol

i recomend the INTERCOOLER
power control on/off @ the front ... no more reaching to the back
fan speed controll
fits the PS a treat dude
for me it was a must but mines PIMPED
