It will take in games but does not read them and the blue light comes on in the front. When I try to load a FTP server it just goes to a black screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?

have you got a disc inside while on the FTP server app on PS3?
one of the directory's is the blueray player (when you have a disc inside) so that might be your problem.

I hope to hell its broke for good.
