Can anyone help me get my ps3 to read discs because i have been trying for a week now. When i try to play a game the loading sign in the top right side of my screen just loads and no game comes up for me to play. I have done the secret recovery menu and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help me without suggesting taking my ps3 appart or sending it to sony.

I think the only way to fix it is to send it back to Sony, but you could try searching around town for shops that can attempt to fix it.

Well, if you have tried restoring your PS3 then your probably out of luck. I would bet that your disc drive has gone out. (this happened to mine and had the same symptoms) I took it to a shop intown and they charged me $50 to fix it and I picked it up the next day. Mine was out of warranty with sony so if I sent it to them it would have cost $150.

My conclusion is there is nothing you can do without taking it apart or taking it to some one who knows how to take it apart.

Sorry for the bad news, but I hope I cleared some stuff up a little bit.

EDIT: I just remembered, my friend had these symptoms also, but when he restored it they all went away. If restoring it is what you mean by the secret recovery menu then I guess I edited it for nothing.

you can clean the blu ray lens. see if that works
