(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The 3.56 update everyone is getting that is on 3.56 is a new version of the same firmware. It is intended to fix problems such as the hard drive upgrade issue people were having. My source is an email response from Sony I sent them yesterday. I've seen several threads posting this without answers so here you go...

Hello *****,

Thank you for writing to us about upgrading the hard drive in the PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system and about the system update.

The system update will be re-released sometime today. If you have any concerns over the update, please wait until later tonight or until tomorrow for updating. Also note that not all game saves will copy over especially if they're copyright protected.

Regards,
****. *.

Is it still possible to swap an hdd on firmware v3.56? I have been trying but been unable to do so. I use this cause my 40gb drive is filled and now I can not use my other drive with current saves on it. I read online that this seems a common issue with 3.56 I was curious what you were doing to fix the issue and when will it be fixed as I would like to use my game saves?

Me too I also think we will see series after series of insignificant updates to hinder us. Im also staying on 3.55 though but I just thought to email Sony about the issue incase even when 3.56cfw does exist it still couldn't fix that issue as I do use multiple hard drives.

This is rediculos in the least. Sony is taking way to long to fix such a tiny problem. I'm about ready to call and slap a sony ho.
