So, apparently Capcom has started using a DRM on PlayStation Network games (in Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 for example) that forces us to connect to the internet each time we want to play the game. The funny part is that the game doesn't even have online modes! :carling:
The game checks if you're connected to PSN, and if you aren't you're pretty much out of luck because the game won't load.
Ubisoft had a DRM similar to this one, i think AC2 used it.
In my opinion this is simply absurd! If i'm not going to play online i should be able to start the game without an internet connection... :dunce:
So, what do you guys think? Will this be the future of gaming?
If they think this is gonna stop piracy, they need to think again. No wonder some resort to piracy, and if this is indeed the future of gaming most people will probably start doing it.
