Killzone 3 is a exclusive title for the PS3. I recently played the demo in both the Move and Dual shock versions. I'll get into that later. This review will cover the game play, Move controlling and Audio & Visual. First up is gameplay.
Gameplay
Controlling
A lot of people had complaints about the sluggish controls in Killzone 2 and they are still present in Killzone 3, although I don't mind, infact it adds to the experience if anything. Customers have had complaints about the 'sluggish' controls but they are just people who are to used to Call of Duty and can't handle anything different.
I liked the the cover system. It is VERY badass. My favourite moment of the demo was when I was running through the battlefield and the Helghast had these rockets. I was being damaged and when you press L2, you can slide into cover while you are sprinting. The cover system is definitely not look Uncharted. It reminds me of the lean in CoD4 on PC. You can move around while in cover and pop your head out and show someone's head off.
The guns look and feel nice. There is lots and lots of detail in them and they handle well. I can assure you there is no gun like the ACR with no recoil. Something you may be worried about is the futuristic weapons. There is no laser gun or anything stupid. The guns were just what you would expect in this time.
The 'brutal melee' system as it has been nicknamed is present in single player and, as it suggests is brutal. I went out of my way to knife the enemys eyes or gouge them. I also hit the Helghast with the butt of my gun in the face. It's definately nice and it is like knifing, you don't have to press any button sequence to trigger it. When near a enemy, going up to them and hitting R3 will trigger one of the many brutal attacks. It is very gory though and ineffective although I haven't been able to try it from the behind.
I won't ruin it, but you get to fly the jet pack in the demo, and it has guns on it.
Move Controlling
There is only one word, and it is terrible. I had my sensitivity in 0% and I was struggling to aim straight. I can't imagine playing the game all the way through like this. I don't think shooting games will ever be a success on any motion sensing (including kinect) software. Also there is no tutorial on the buttons which made it difficult. The game is hard enough with a controller without having to use the Move to control it. :n: Big thumbs down for me.
Audio and Visual
Luscious and spectacular are the only words to describe it. The environments look amazing. I can see why this can take up so much memory on the disc. The water is pretty darn cool and the physics on it are not something you see every day. I think the devs went all out on this and they delivered a powerhouse game. The snow environment is perfect and flying through the glaciers and then blowing up oil pipes with a futuristic chain gun is gratifying but still a challenge.
One of the things I liked was the character detail. Seeing someone being shot in front of me made me feel endangered. My favorite moment in the demo occurred when the ISA forces were let down on the snow base. Instantly rockets flew over our heads and I saw a ISA ship going down and kill a bunch of soldiers. We were set down, heavy MG fire goes over whizzing over our heads.
Instinctively I dive to cover and get hit along the way. In front of me other ISA men are getting shot up. Moments like this are just not in CoD ( this wasn't a cut scene).
Audio just felt right. I was wearing 7:1 headphones and it felt amazing. Hearing my footsteps crush the ice and bullets flying past my unprotected head was something I hadn't felt for a long time. The audio and visual are much better on what is an already perfect game Uncharted 2.
The last time I experienced something like this was when I played BF:BC2.
:y:This game is truly worth it. You can get it on Amazon pre order for $USD55.00. Apart from the Move, this game is awesome. Something truly different from CoD or any other game. :y:
Apparently the SP demo has been removed from the Hong Kong store, the cool part is that it wasn't exclusive to PS plus subscribers. But maybe that's why they removed it.
I believe it is released around the 25th of February. The demo is available to non PS + subscribers in a week.

Yeh I always keep a account for US and Asia. It is pretty stupid that we pay $70AUD a year and people who don't play get it for free.
I played the demo too and I absolutely loved it. I am still concerned about the 'sluggish' movement. I think it will impair my aim dramatically since I play on such a high sensitivity and the higher it gets, the faster, but more sluggish aswell.
