(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hi i was copying my films onto my ps3 but alot arent being recognised by the ps3 system unless the video codec is mpeg-4, it seems like the file type doesnt matter aslong as the codec is mpeg.

anyway i was wondering if any1 knew a way to play videos with different codecs on the ps3

I found that ages ago , i copied a psp .cso over onto the ps3 by renaming it daxter.cso.mp4.

Well , not to play . My game tried to be played but then corrupted , im not sure about videos but hey give it a go.

I found that xvid .avi works on it.

Try converting through this.

.mpg, .avi, etc., are all just video containers. NOT codecs.
