when i put blue ray disk in it does not recognise that a game has been entered but it still reads dvd and cd wtf is wrong with it please help

I am sorry to say that your playstation is most likely finished. Mine did the exact same thing it wouldn't play ps3 games or bluray but still played dvd's. i cleaned it with a disc cleaner and it worked a few times. i just unplugged it to reset it that worked once but after that it was finished. I googled my problem and saw about a million other people having the same problem and i pissed that playstation charges us like 600 bucks for a piece of crap that worked one year three months in my case. I was actually thinkink of switching to xbox but i have 49 playstation games so i had to buy another freaking playstation. This one isn't even backward compatible so i down graded i say you call,write playstation. i think all of us deserve another playstation if we turn are junk one in. sorry man.

darn...!!!??im noob by the way...had this ps3 bout 16 months now (bak comp 80gig) one of the first ones i guess??.....with the first "motorstorm"....now it dont like blu-ray games or movies but it has no problem with ps2 , dvd , or music formats, or anything else on my hd???(250gig wd) has worked fine for months and months....ive opened this thing up quarterly and cleaned/blew all the crap out of it....im an auto mechanic by trade with some "schoolin" in electrical/electronic repair....in the r/c hobby ...usually have no problem fixin stuff...but now i hear that "kem400-aaa" laser ass'y probably wont solve my problem either..????!!!! so now what????? i say we take sony with a class action suit!!!!!!

well you have a simple problem . Ether boot up a demo the press the ps button and load your game. Or i could sell you a "BLU RAY" drive.

Yeah sorry to say dude but I sent in my PS3 for the same problem last month. I called Sony and they said it was a Blu-Ray Disc Drive failure. They told me to send it in and they charged me $150.00 because it was out of warranty by 3 months! lol but I did get it back a week later they just sent me a brand new one.
