I have recently aquired a ps3 with a non working blu ray drive and my other ps3 is bricked but the blu ray drive worked in hat one if I were to swap out the faulty one with the one from my bricked will it work? Also be noted that the bricked on is cechl01 and the other is cechg01. Both systems are fat

They have to be the same model blu ray drives or you can't swap them.

I had the same issue before, just swap the boards on each drive

Your talking about the board that is connected to the blu ray drive itself?

Yes, The board at the bottom, just unhook the cables and unscrew to swap. the motherboard and the blueray drive board are married together from what I was told when I had issues with mine.
