1. press eject
2. unplug ps3 while holding eject
3. plug cord back in, ps3 should run its fan really high
This will shoot all the dust out of the ps3.
But this is not recommended...
Oh, I was about to do that there until I saw the post below. Thank god. I do regular dustings off the PS3 to keep it well...It is quite cool though but will not do that.
I've done this before you don't unplug anything though. The way I did it was...
Turn PS3 off with switch in the back.
Hold finger on eject then flip switch back on.
The fan spins super fast for like 30 seconds or so. And dust goes flying out. I think it only works on 40gb models. I have done it twice and never had anything happen. But it can't be good for your ps3.

I just recently got the so called "blinking red light of death" and doing a fan test actually saved my counsel... dont ask me how... but it didnt work before but worked after so .................... im happy.
