03-11-2011, 06:23 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I only have 20gb left for storage, and I want to upgrade without having to use an external hard drive to backup my stuff but could I somehow save my data on my computer that from my computer put it on my ps3 once I put the new hard drive in? If you understand...

Also Would this hard drive work???

You can't save your data on a computer and the PS3 is compatible with just about any 2.5-inch SATA notebook hard disk.

So would I have to buy like a 100GB External hard drive? And than backup files on that hard drive and put in the other hard drive and upload those files back onto my new hard drive?

Also the one I showed the URL in, would that one work?
Thanks for your help!

I suppose the easiest way is to become a PSN+ member and use the CLOUD based saving method backup everything you have to that and boom your done after you swap HD's get everything back.

Okay Okay I am a PSn+ member, but I hope you wouldn't mind explaining a few things to me. If I just save my data from games. I have about 8 games. But NOT save map packs than how do I do the cloud thing and, will there be enough room, and how will I get them back? Please help Smile))

I am saving all my saved game data to cloud right now. But when I put in my new hard drive will I be able to login to my current account take all my stuff that I uploaded and put it right back where I got it but on my new hard drive? And also go to ps store and go to my downloads and all my map packs will be there right?

In the CLOUD saving you get 150mb each game save is between 1-3mb so I suppose you would have more than enough room. I haven't looked into it and I am a PSN+ member but I think they will give you an option I upgraded yesterday and started playing so didn't really look to see where that option was. As far as how you get them back AS LONG AS YOUR A PLUS MEMBER you have them stored to access whenever you want.

well actually you have a couple of choices here. 1. you can use any 2.5 inch SATA HDD would work for it.... 2. you can use a USB like a 15-20GB one for all of your games or 3. use the new CLOUD saving method available from updating your ps3's firmware to 3.60!
