(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); this problem occured yesterday 1st it froze upon boot, would load the wavy bars and freeze there then switch off from back reboot it it and black screen, i pulled cords out and and put my finger in the power port to discharge the ps3 pluged everything back in and it worked, it happened again later last night and i couldnt get it working anymore it froze and now blackscreening, cant even get recovery mode booted.. so it might be corrupted data.. when the ps3 is booted the hdd light only flashes once and black screen, was wondering if anyone had this problem and can solve it and how? im on 3.55cfw kmeaw so not sending to sony would ratha repair myself if theres any good tutorials thatl help me

Ok You hit the PS buttion and PS3 starts but a blank screen, Or Controller wont start the system but touching the power on buttion in the front starts the PS3 but a blank screen. Ok 1st Leave or put the system in Stand By mode (Solid Red Light). 2nd Put your finger on the touch power buttion to turn the system on BUT hold it there untill you hear 3 beeps. 1St Beeps says the system has started up, then the other 2 quick beeps says the system has restored the settings back to the default manufactory settings. Once you hear the 3 beeps remove your finger. Restoring the settings that way have NO AFFECT on your PS3's porfile, save game, or PSN for online. 90% of time poeple told me that it worked. Try this b4 calling Sony. If worse comes to Worse and it don't help then call them to have it repaired. Hope this helps alot.

recovery mode does not work, im not willing to call sony and give them my ps3 on cfw with backups on it theyl also take weeks to fix and charge me a high price to fix it.. the three beeps thing doesnt work, looking for a way to fix it myself.. or probly find a cheap repair service place. but thanks for the help guys

sounds like the rsx or cpu is died or dying hdd could be the problem 2 or a short but thats very hard to find unless u can x ray the mobo i had the same problem with my ps3 be4 it died and then it would freeze and show white arrows

Simple Fix,

First Download The System Recovery Files (Lv2diag.self )Find Them On Google They Are Out There.

Second Put The Lv2diag.self On The Root Of Your USB Drive + A Version Of The Current OFW You Was On.

Power Up PS3 And There You Go Just Hit System Restore Or Rebuild File Database (I Think)

What are you talking about? CPU is a processor so it can't die and the HDD can't die because it is storage.

ok il try the system recovery files because when i turn ps3 on the duo memory card slot flashes once like its looking for a jig or something

they can short out because the ps3 does produce heat over time it does weakin the chip sets or it get so hot the joints under the chips melt and can touch eachother and thus a shorted out chip the hdd can go bad 2 heat is the main cause of the ps3 problems

Heat doesn't damage a HDD because the HDD doesn't process. It is just acts as a bridge in the PS3, Moving data.
