(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The only games i play are cod. When i play a game of cod, halfway through the 1st game I lose sound (like in snd, at the start of the round there wouldnt be that music). When the game finishes, my ps3 will freeze and i cant turn it off at the front. Would this be because i left it untouched 30 days then went on it heaps? also the desk it is on seems to collect a fair bit of dust. What do i do?

Well this happened to me exact same thing and it was the blu ray drive. It had gone kaput, it was a 60GB fat PS3 so I don't know about you but that was my problem.

was the serial something like CECHG02? and is it possible to buy a new blueray drive or do i have to get a new ps3 if it is the blueray drive?

I don't know the serial, because I sold it, I can ask the person who I sold it to if you want. Also eBay would be the place toget another blu ray.

First off, get all the dust off it, then blow lightly into the CD drive.

If that doesn't work, try switching it over onto a different TV (if available)

If that doesn't work, it could be your internet, it happened to me and used to kick me out of matches and stuff then wouldn't connect to any matches for like 2 weeks.

Just check with your ISP that P2P services are available.

ebay link: You must login or register to view this content. all you need to do is take the blu ray motherboard off then buy this then place the motherboard onto it

Are they running the same ISP? If so, contact them and make sure that P2P (Peer '2' Peer) is available on your ISP.

If they aren't, then I'm afraid it's something to do with your PS3, it could be just the laser which reads the discs, they're not that expensive to replace I don't think.
