No new games as of Portal 2 onward will be bootable on CFW for the foreseeable future. This is because the games require 3.60 Firmware. We can not just make a .pkg or modded eboots to make the game work because we do not have various keys (Encryption?) to unlock the game and edit it. Until one of the hackers gets these keys new games will NOT be playable.

Please do not make threads about Portal 2 or any other new games.

Oh and FYI, I have a feeling newer games will use a newer SDK (Software Development Kit). If that is true, then the PS3 libraries used in the games will be newer than the ones in the 3.55 FW. So whats the effect? Games requesting features from the ps3 it doesn't have, being un-stable, crashing, or not running at all. It could also harm the PS3 depending on what actions it attempts to do that the FW doesn't support.

Well this is good news, because it will force devs to make a new CFW. If there are no more workarounds, and they can only play old games on CFW, a solution will come out!

The only thing we need is decryption keys. It doesn't matter about sdk, or anything else, as the sdk still has to be compatible with various hardware.

some devs already have 3.60keys but they aren't gonna release them since they're scared of Sony. Geohot is the only hero & the rest are bunch of girls.

Well, geo hot was stupid, because look where just "helping the scen" got him lol. But I do respect every thing else about him, just not the keys. Also I I know it's easy for the devs to get those keys, but the devs that could, do pnt care enough lol.

Its evin funnyer because if there arnt people asking and creating threds on wether they can get it to work or not there wont be people trying and therefor will take MUCH longer that it would if people were acctually incouraging people to get them opperational.. me im currently occupied with trying to get full RSX support in debian.. no luck so far but have made progress
